New to this…

I’ve been meaning to get this up and running for a while now. I plan on trying to update my training daily and post some random thoughts as well.

For those of you that don’t know, I am Dave Berdan. I am married (Amanda) and have two sons (Evan (4) and Colin (almost 2) ). I teach (Middle School Science) and live at Garrison Forest School with my family. In addition to teaching I coach the varsity cross country team. I have had a goal of qualifying for the Olympic Trials Marathon since I was in college (1999-2004). In 2008 I ran 2:23 on a hot day in Scranton, PA at the Steamtown Marathon and in 2011 after running 1:05:53 at Rock and Roll Philadelphia I decided to take a shot at the hilly Baltimore Marathon where I ran 2:21. I’m not giving up on these goals and look to take a shot at 2016 and beyond. In the mean time I hope to run well and be competitive at races both locally and within the region.

I hope to document both the challenges and triumphs I go through as the years go by….
